THE CORNER BAR

Built in 1932, the Art Deco interiors of the main bar remain the social hub of Erskineville village. Renown for an eclectic mix of residents, students, urban professionals and local identities, this old boozer might find you locking eyes with celebrities, media personalities or sporting icons over the famous island bar.

The island bar is the iconic feature of the pub, the design reflecting an intent to create social interaction and a sense of community. A place where individuals wander in to find conversation, laughter and good times often ending in all-nighters.

Owned and operated by the Leach Family for over 25 years. It will come as no surprise to find the family pouring beers, clearing the floor or just playing host. This is a pub run by a local family for the local community. A place you can meet and know the publican.

The Corner Bar features traditional draught beers, selection of craft beers on tap or bottled. A love of NSW wines and ciders is showcased on the beverage list. Enjoy the outdoor street seating, sports vision and “lies and laughter” from your favorite bar-staff. Climb the stairs to Howards Cantina to find a cocktail bar, Italian pop-up restaurant and outdoor terrace. This local truly has Erskineville covered.

COCKTAILS

Inspired mixology that delivers on the classics with a twist and original creations. Our team find inspiration in smoking and infusion, seeking to find balance and flavour that is unique and has that taste that will make you come back for another round. Our tip: sit at the bar to discover the aromas or relax back on the terrace on a sofa and make a session of it.

REVIEWS

Each dish has a unique story - the stories are of childhood memories on southern beaches, over coming challenges in times of hardship, and you may even find yourself being introduced to the chef's mother-in-law.

Food and booze are the game here and our hot tip is to BYO stretchy pants. The menu is perfect for sharesies, with clever takes on old favourites (we're looking at you mashed potato with three types of fat).

It hits all the right notes; specials, monster steak and rib nights, shared plates, trivia, 2-for-1 cocktails in happy hour. The pub's famous beer-battered fries are famous for a reason and you WILL try the restaurant-standard Chocolate Experience.

Erskinville has scored another win by the way of Howard's Cantina opening above the much loved Rose of Australia Hotel. Hidden away from the hype of King Street, the restaurant and cocktail bar is all about dishing out swanky small plates and hearty share plates in a retro setting.

Really enjoyed this place!! The food here is incredible - I was lucky enough to come in an try a whole heap of things off the new menu. Not only did the food present very well but the staff were super friendly and the decor is beautiful! -from fromsydwithlove
